This is a topic that has been on my mind for a few months and I always thought to myself what will I say when this moment comes. Well, the moment is here, I am walking away from soccer. It breaks my heart to even put those words together and then to combine that with the thought of leaving Pitea is just emotionally exhausting, Although it saddens me to accept the fact that my time with soccer is over, I couldn't be more thankful that my retirement came at a time and a place where I have never felt so loved. I will always and forever consider Pitea my second home. I am so thankful and blessed to have met so many great people who I will never forget and I look forward to coming back to see the friends and family that I made over the years. Someone once told me that happiness is something or someone who brings you to complete joy. Although soccer is great and the passion I have for the sport will forever live inside of me, I can undoubtedly say that it is the people of Pitea that brought me to complete joy. I am thankful for soccer, the places it has taken me, and the life lessons it has taught me and now that chapter of my life is over I am curious as to see what is going to make me want to plant my feet and drive like soccer has.
Pitea, you have welcomed me with open arms and made me feel apart of a community. Everyone has been a huge part of my career. Pitea has opened my eyes and my heart to a new and better perspective on life and I will forever remember your love and kindness.
So I guess this isn't goodbye…..it's just see you later!!

One day in the locker room we were listening to the "Lion King" in Swedish. Definitely weird hearing it in Swedish, but it got me thinking. What does the ABC's sound like in other languages! I got together the internationals on our team and had them recite their ABC's.....You will be surprised how similar but different they are. Even the english speaking countries have two different ABC's! And I don't even want to get you started on what the Icelandic ABC's sound like. I swear Halle Berry says the word cow during the song. haha
Take a look....
Can you say your ABC's without messing up?? It took a few takes for some of these players hahaha

Hey! This is such a great video that automatically makes you smile when you see it! My good friend Stephanie Labbe had this great thought for her blog on "Our Game Magazine" to interview different people about the word happiness! A few people from Pitea and myself made the video and its a must see! Hope you enjoy it!
Have a great week..

I love Saturdays!
Today the sun in shining and the community of Pitea gathered outside to mingle, eat cake, drink coffee and to celebrate the new "sundsgatan".
I really enjoy events like this because it allows Pitea IF to talk and get to know others in the community! And what a great way to do that while eating a huge cake that looks like the road "sundsgatan".
Here is what happened under the sun!
Thanks for everyone who came out today!

Game Sunday vs AIK @LF Arena

Second half has officially started. We are now into our third game of the season. Our first two games have been a slow start but we showed great potential to score and to create good opportunities against the top team in the league. I have no doubt that our time to shine will come!
Plus we have some good dedication from players....example: Our morning bike ride to the gym in the pouring rain!
Back in the day when I played in University and for the Boston Breakers, I use to paint my nails a different color and design for every match. I met one of my favorite fans yesterday after our game and this is what she had to show me....
All the country flags that we have on this team! What an amazing idea and loved her passion for the team. I think I might start a contest. Every home game we can see who can come up with the best designed nails. And after each game you can come up to me and show me your idea. Which ever one is my favorite I will post on my blog! This week the winner is BB (Karlssons mom)!!!! Gotta love her!
Recently I have done a lot of thinking about what will I do when soccer is over. I know I need to find something that makes me as happy as soccer has. I know I will get a job and start to be in the real world, but I need to find an outlet that motivates and challenges me in a competitive way. Recently I have gotten into crossfit training. I have done a few challenges to see how I compare to other crossfit women and I think I have the strength and drive to compete.
My challenge to myself is to do a crossfit workout once a week. These usually consist of pushing yourself as much as you can in a timed situation. I will try to post videos of my progress.
RIght now I'm injured with a sore hamstring so I'm limited to what I can do. So this weeks challenge was just trying to see if I can do a one-handed handstand!
SUCCESS!! The first couple times I could only stand up for a few seconds....but by the end of my workout and some practice...I can easily stand on one hand , no problem.
I have realized though that crossfit is not something that you can figure out right away. Even though I accomplished the hand stand in 20 minutes today....not every challenge will be this easy...BUtterfly pullups will take me a month or longer! Still working on those. BUT...
I have finally found what I would love to be apart of when my soccer career is over!
